Look Away
After years of recording and performing, this is Dave Calkins' first single. Calkins wrote “Look Away” for the film Quiet Maelstrom. The film is about a young boy who is cursed or blessed (depending on your point of view) with a peculiar gift or syndrome. The boy, Patrick, has “Absolute Insight”. When he looks into the eyes of someone, he immediately perceives the essential nature of that person. At times, ugly people are revealed as beautiful, beautiful people are exposed as evil….
Unfortunately the film was never completed. However a film of the hand drawn storyboard is available with music soundtrack on the Ancova International website (film section).
"Look Away" features vocals and guitar by Dave Calkins and electric slide/lead and rhythm guitar by Tom Downey.
We Are Not Alone

The images in this film were created using an invented process called digital dry printing. The music for this film was composed using a numerical interval system, that when layered, generates layers of numbers in a Fibonacci Sequence.
